About This Class Series

These weekly improv classes are open to advanced-level performers who want to master additional tools, techniques, and approaches to performance-level improvisation. Classes will explore:

  • Finding the story of the scene and anchoring the characters there
  • Creating & using memorable characters
  • Learning to excel at scenes with three or more people
  • Understanding story structure
  • Learning to use acting techniques to anchor and improve improvisation

OUR CLASSES ARE CAPPED AT 10 PARTICIPANTS! Fewer students = more personalized feedback and time to work.

PREREQUISITES: Participants in this class series MUST have already completed our Community Level Class series or an Intermediate class series at another theater.

Student Information

Improvisation is spontaneous. The unexpected not only CAN happen, it often DOES. Because of that, we strive to create an environment of artistic exploration and freedom in a safe and permissive atmosphere. In our studio, participants are allowed and encouraged to experiment while they learn. If we make mistakes - and we most certainly will!! - that's OK. We don’t believe that our goal is to avoid mistakes: it’s to learn from them when they occur.

Our community asks all participants & instructors to follow these simple guidelines:

* Be welcoming and kind to everyone!
* Have fun!
* Accept and celebrate differences!
* Communicate & respect boundaries in a kind way!
* Assume good intentions!
* Allow for mistakes! 👍🏼 😊

If you see something, say something. We include many opportunities to speak/share during class. If you’re uncomfortable: tell the community why or, if you prefer, speak to an instructor during a break or after class. We’re here to help you on your journey.

Please use your mouse/finger to sign below to confirm you understand and commit to these guidelines.
